Which one will it be? CV 35mm f1.2 V2 or 35mm Summicron ASPH?

Sorry if it might sound stupid but I love both lenses a lot and I need to sell one to fund other commitments. Basically both are really sharp and have beautiful rendition but.....
- I hate CV for the size and weight
- I can shoot with CV at really low light conditions (with only 1 candle light as lighting) but not with cron.

I know I don't shoot under that kind of lighting really often and I know I can push my film or ISO when I need it but it'll be nice to have if even 1600 ISO don't help. In conclusion, I need that one lens that I can keep for my normal use. Will be great if I can get some opinions esp from users who own both lenses. Thanks in advance :D

I use d 35 most of d time. I'll keep d cron 35 over d cv due to its light weight n smaller size.

Hmm

I'm more of a size person.

would prefer to keep the cron due to the size in comparision to the 35mm F1.2 from Voigtlander.

If you are not brand picky, I would suggest selling both & getting a 2nd hand 35mm F1.4 from voigtlander, light weight, compact & fast lens at F1.4 for lowlight.

Thank Thoth.... I guess cron gets 1 vote for now.

In clubsnap, its always the faster the better!!!

Kidding aside, why not settle for something in between? cv 35/1.4, lux 35/1.4, canon 35/1.5... ...

Hey Gary, thanks for dropping by... I had the CV 35/1.4 before... and 35 cron is something I got not too long ago for the size and the IQ. Like you, i'm more of a size person too... its only that once in a while I need the bigger aperture for low lights.

THanks for dropping by too! I'm not that picky on speed but its something good to have but would love to try canon 35/1.5 someday. :)

Get another CV 35-1.2 ASPH 2 and carry in yr camera bag just for nite shooting... as u dun really need to use it during the day... Or get a Lux 35 ASPH...

Sell both and go back to CV 35/1.4 :P Otherwise I think I'd keep the 'cron.
I like small lenses too, one of the main reasons I shoot RF in the first place.

hahaha.. it seems like CV's getting no votes. No CV fans in da house.

only you can decide, there are no wrong decisions to be made here. market is awash with these 2 lenses, so any regret can be easily remedied ;)

Keep the Bokton - you can always stop it down. :p

Seriously though, sounds like something in between is the way to go for you - and there are a bunch of good options.

You are right. I'm leaning more towards the cron now, maybe because its new. :(

I prefer something of a smaller form factor and as much as I love the creamy bokeh and huge aperture, the size of the CV35/1.2 is the reason why its a shelf queen now. Something in between is definitely what i'm looking for but I would prefer something better than CV 35/1.4. That said, I don't have the budget for that something better now. haha....

it seem like I have answered my own question :P

Actually, if u find a good copy of CV 35-1.7 Ultron ASPH, it's really good and affordable, giving u a wider aperture and great sharpness @ half d price of d CV 35-1.2 ASPH 2. Fudgecake & myself each has a copy and it's really a rare gem that is not in production anymore...

Used to like the 50s, but now, turn to a 35s man.
Compact, i like the Hexanon UC-35, still keeping it.
The cron 35 8 elements version 1 is my favorite now.
Keeping a 35 Lux asph for low light.
Used to own the 35 cron asph, but dont really like it.
Sold the canon 35/1.5 for the lux 35.
Also sold the Hexanon 35/2 LTM, cos a duplicate of UC
Aiming for the FLE next.

U haf used both the Cron 35 V1 and the ASPH. I am alwayz wondering watz d diff and y it seems alot of ppl prefers the V1 or V4 Cron 35s over the ASPH? Could you elaborate if possible?

I have always wondered what's the difference between 35 UC and cron asph... Care to elaborate? Maybe I haven't had the chance to try other lenses but I really like my 35 cron.

I say just get the one that you feel best shooting with and be done with it.

Since the CV is deterring you from shooting with its heft, then forget it.
If the Cron feels good and makes you want to shoot, then it's the one!

Daily usage far outweights the lingering doubts of 'I might use that extra stop or two once in a while'. :)

You will find your love one day

Like girl frens keep dating till you are married :p
Think everything is personal. Maybe I old school prefer old lenses lo

Even married can have affairs that is why I got a few 35. Don't stop at one. Haha

I believe that the 35mm UC Hex is a copy of the V4 Cron a.k.a Bokeh King.

Simply means that it is not as clinical as the ASPH. Depending on your style and preference , sharp and "perfect" photos with the ASPH or something with more feel.(UC/V4)

Still very subjective and you never know till you have some time to shoot with it. That is why going into RF is such a slippery slope !
