You have to pay for their marketing plans through
their very expensive L lenses. You cannot use an
old canon lens you bought in the 60s on a new body.
Not known to newbies that it is the truth that it is

Crappy build quality for everything except high end body. Terrible noize in P&S cam compare to Fuji. Low end are build like dog-shite compare to nikon (kit lens etc). This the reason I dump my canon P&S and go with Fuji F30. Almost sell off all my Canon SLR stuffs now after got the D80.

I the other way around.

Number one: build quality to me is not important. You buy a camera to drop it on the floor everyday meh? It's one of the STUPIDEST reason on why a buy a DSLR, BUILD QUALITY.

Canon DSLRs are gr8 in noise control, that's good enough for me. Full stop. Way better than the Nikon D70/D70s/D80/D200 IMHO anyway.

And reason why I had switched to canon, (not just because I lost my Nikon D70) was that I love the AF system loads better than Nikon; AWB is accurate 95% of the time (Stupid nikon gave me horrid AWB, so I had to use Cloudy most of the time); and what I see on the LCD screen is what I get when I upload to the computer. Noise control is inferior to the Canon when pictures are viewed side by side.

CANON...We CAN do it!

Personally i think that canon cameras are quite user-friendly when compared to the rest. The buttons and controls have a "cleaner" look.

Quite satisfied overall, but unfortunately the flash system is not the best.:cry:
Hopefully they can continue to improve their flash system!
