Yeah for those A700 users who have up their skill, only limited by the camera and need to move forward, should already either move to A850/A900 or by now should already jump ship.
I've yet to squeeze the best out of my A700. Don't mind the wait, anyway, on the positive side, the wait allows me to save up for the new cam.
Rumored to be priced around the Canon 60D price range. If that's true I'd be happy.
My advice to those who can't wait, just move on. Don't let Sony hold you back on your photography endeavors and also don't continue to whine.:dunno: I look at it for those who jump ship is their loss is our gain for the local alpha community.

And I think the delay may be part due to the high demand for the 14MP and 16MP sensors for the NEX,A33/55,A5XX,Nikon D3100/D7000 and Pentax K5, that they maximize these sensor productions before rolling out the next sensor.
Indications of these is the reports of Sony subcontract some sensor productions to Fujitsu and the upgrading of their Fab in Nagasaki to the tuned of USD$1.2b. Maybe that's why the a33/55 stocks are low.
I also imagine next year Airshow at Changi will see many Sony users spraying 7fps/10fps like mad during the aerobatic display. I certainly will be there with my nex 3, a700, a850 and the new a77.

Not juz the skill, i believe the new sensor shud have improvement over IQ juz like the current 16MP sensor supersede the older 14MP.

No, me not Alpha boi fan. Naturally I have a-mount lenses, except for that single e-mount lens, each camera a tool for specific occasion.
Seldom bring them all out together unless I have family and friends to help carry and actually know how to use them.
If and when the mythical a77 becomes available, my a700 would be my backup. I rent the A850 for my FF cravings, trying to appreciate (poison myself) FF. I'm only a hobbyist like most of you, albeit, a bit more gear.

I believe quality lens play a big part in IQ.
But I've seen skilled photographers using a Tamron 28-300mm having better IQ than me with a CZ 24mm.
At 4R, it seems difficult to compare a 6Mp vs 16Mp or 24Mp. But higher Mp do help a lot if I need to crop.

I've came across some copies producing IQ which I found hard to believe can be achieved from such a cheap and old lens.
The 'skills' of those photographers is really their knowledge of their lens, where it's strengths and weakness are and applying this knowledge during the shoot.
But I do agree with you in that p'ple who can't wait and wanna jump ship should quit whining and just JUMP !
...however I know there's a high chance when the A700 replacement finally arrives, these same p'ple will be jumping right back ! :bsmilie:Don't talk cr@p. Back it up with proof.

I think he meant the noise level at iso25600 will be as clean as iso400. So superior noise performance in other words la.
I think all the delays is partly due to resources being diverted to nex which was a phenomenal success against plan ba

i think that.. with all the hype that canikon's up to something... i think they're biding their time to see what those two giants will pull before deciding on feature set.

A quick "noobie" question.
If the a77 is able to resolve 24mp, is it's image quality the same as a850 24mp image quality? I understand that a850 is FF.

Different sensor so diff iq. As this sensor is still an abstract , none has seen it yet. Therefore un able to comment. But the image quality is unlikely to be the same.
Pixel density would be different and imge tone would be different as well. 24mp means it has a high resolution that's all.
