Because.......

I JUST WANNA LIVE!
DONT REALLY CARE ABOUT THE THINGS THAT THEY SAY,
DONT REALLY CARE ABOUT WHAT HAPPENS TO ME.......

I JUST WANNA LIVE!

i started enjoying shooting since last year when i was in china. was never a camera person but when friend lent me her cam to play about, i realized what beautiful colors and pictures such a toy (expensive one) like that can capture.

always prefer landscape better than portraits. (more fruitful imo)
but shooting ppl is more fun.. esp when you join shoots coz get to spend time with friends, exchange tips and shoot at the same time.

For me, I just like photography as a hobby for now. ;)

because I didn't want to be in the photograph :D

so that I don't to run the Cross Country in Mc Ritchie..only need to use my Canon AE1-P to take photos..

I took up photography because .........

I can carry a big camera with long lens around my neck, not to mention Lowepro camera bag and Manfrotto tripods on my shoulders, and Lightsphere on my flash. I can also wear CS polo shirt and Nikon cap.

For me, it's to capture the best moments with my love ones and friends.. Also part of interest but i still abit shy to take out my camera infront of other photographers leh... The bigger their DSLR, the more i feel like getting bullied.. LOL...

cause its easier than having a photographic memory :)
to remember my moments in life :)

Don't be shy. I started off with a compact Fuji camera in 2005 (or 2006, anyway I can't remember). I stood myself in the front row at a pageant event and beside me were people like harrynkl and YLSX etc having big guns. Hehe~ But I only knew who they were later.

Like many Singaporeans, I was working 7 days a week, long hours, totally shagged out when the day ends, no interest in life nor towards any thing at all, and burdened with all the responsibility of a mid-life crisis... UNTIL...
I re-discovered the marvels of the DSLR and the adrenaline high that buying a tok gong lens can bring...
Even more importantly... then I DISCOVERED CLUBSNAP...
Wah lau... from then on my life has been lifted up.
Now everyday I look forward to CS at the end of the day. Every week I look forward to shooting. Every month I look forward to travelling to shoot.
Every time I drive/walk past any place, any object, any building, my eyes start scanning the scene and my mind start asking 'how can I capture this in an artistically pleasing way?'.

In short, it has changed my life.

i had a lot of time to fill

so i thought, hey , let me do something with my p&s

and then i never looked back

because i have too much time on my hand not doing anything worthwhile.

wow, looks like the thread is having some gd response.

keep them coming :)

I took it up because i want to preserve all the beautiful things in a frame.

...for me, its a combination of artistry and intricacy.

** Artistry in the sense of how the light goes through the lens, off the mirror and eventually onto the screen/film in a pleasing photo of something memorable or someone special (or at least its sometimes like this for a new camera-man like myself!). That really makes my day, especially when the "someone" in the photo is my wife. She's been through a lot and it perks her up when she sees a nice photo of herself looking good. That makes me glow inside to be able to bring that sort of look to her eye. Priceless.

** Intricacy in the sense that there are so many variables, many inter-dependent. Adjust one, something else will need changing. I love this complexity and the quest to master even one setting or combination of settings.

In these two ways, it's similar to my other passion --> making espresso. I could go on for hours about the intricacy of espresso making but i guess this isnt the right forum for that!

Cheers and happy snapping :)

I cannot draw for nuts and...

if I stand in front of the lens...lens crack.:bsmilie:

I love watching movies since young. How they shoot, compose, lightings, angles and to me
movies & photography are linked, one is moving and one is static. My dad used to take
alot of pictures in the old days mostly black and white of us growing up.So when I was
in my teens he gave me his Rolleicord Twin Lenses Reflex and that started my photography
streak.:)
