I think I am addicted to F1.2....

eh .... to me these pictures actually showed how badly they are... out of focus. :what:

Brother, if u are holding on to the 85mm f1.2, u will be surprised at the focusing accuracy of this lens.

Take a look at the portraits in this link:
http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=813029

The first 2 pics in the link above is sharp enuff to cut the skin & almost all the pics are taken at f1.2

[Take note: no photoshop sharpening added.... all straight from cam]

woah, i think this will cause permanent damage to TS's wallet... haha!

If i am not wrong, this lens cost around SGD13,800... IF i am not wrong...

With that price, i can buy an export set canon 800mm F5.6L....

hahaha... but gettin the leica isnt just as cheap as SGD13,800.... i still need a leica camera too.

m9 not cheap!

its another ~ SGD12k rite?

so in total, if i wanna use the 50mm f0.95, it would cost me around SGD25,000

i think there are adapters for leica to canon camera, but i am not familiar with such things....

i miss the handholdability of the 85/1.2 the most. Heh, i used to push 1/30s at f1.2, maxed ISO. That said, it's a tool. Knowing when to shoot wide open and when not to is important. For the record, most people (non-photogs) would give up f1.2 bokeh to have both eyes focused in the shot. And f1.2 can (almost) never get 4 sharp eyes in a two person head-and-shoulder portrait.

i heard m mount lenses cannot be used on canon camera? :dunno:

It's nice to have a f/1.2 or f/1.4. But for my own shooting style i prefer at least f/2.8 to get some of the parts to be in tact. f/1.2 may not be an easy lens to shoot especially with the shallow DOF. And although it gives a nice and creamy bokeh, some of the subjects would be blur out.

for my 35mm, i dun shoot wide open also, usually f2 or f2.8. :)

The Noct 50 0.95 is a stunning lens to use. But being Leica M you cannot adapt to Canon. Only Leica R can.

I think it is matter of what you really want to shoot.

A bit too thin and hard to keep in focus, been very tiring but rewarding using my FD 85mm F1.2L. The idea is "please don't move" :D

Look at #8 in the link --> http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/showthread.php?t=813029

its possible to shoot sharp pics of 3 persons at f1.4

but then again frankly, for 85mm or 50mm, these 2 lens are not really for group shots... there are wider lens out there to do the job...

yeah true... they have to be on the same plane.... 50 is quite ok for pics of a few ppl, like u said if too many then a wider lens is req.

I think I am addicted to F1.2 lens already.... After using both canon 50mm F1.2 and 85mm F1.2 for quite some time, I realised that I have gotten used to the bright viewfinder and the fast speed of the F1.2 glass already.

I have been poisoned to the extent whereby I feel F2.8 lens are slow, and that F4 is cannot make it... I am sort of use to the capability of the 50 1.2 and 85 1.2 to take night shots at low iso...

In fact, nowadays when i look at lens, I only look at lens in the F1.4 region.... Unless there is no > F2 apeture of the lens in the range I wanted.

really jialat, even as of now my mind is hovering on the 35mm F1.4 liao...

[Just to share: In fact I have also been looking up reviews and threads on the Leica 50mm F0.95 and the canon 50mm F1.0 ]

Somebody pls save me from the poison... Anybody else in my poisoned category?

Welcome to our world! I do have these problems but once in a while, there are also decent stuff out there that does not weigh a ton or burn a gaping hole in the pocket. The best part of the 1.2 lenses is that there are only 2 kinds for the canon systems, so once you have them, cure is in sight, haha!

Try the 24L f1.4 MKII....that a pretty awesome lens. ;)

lol. you kanna virus already =D good luck to ur wallet. =D

Err it is actually once you have both EF 1.2, you will look at 1.0, then you will look at leica with adapter, and the list can go on and on. Both EF is actually more like the start rather than the end.:bsmilie:
