I love Yummy Yummy (My food thread)

A cup of Cuppucino from Paris Baguette~ Relaxing Saturday afternoon, although the place is loaded with LOTS of people. It's quite hectic actually.

Therefore if i am really looking for a nice chill out place, i will probably go 1 level up to Starbucks.

One more dessert from PB. I prefer this to the crepe cake as this is much lighter and still can easily finish this no matter how full you are.

Mostly filled with strawberry cream with a little pudding/jam at the bottom of the cup.

Old Hong Kong @ Novena

Wanted to try their roast meat and roast duck previously but we were too early and their ducks were not delivered yet. :bsmilie:

Manage to try it this time and no regret!

Skin of the roast meat is crispy 到~~ And the skin of the roast duck is 香到~~

Apart from this dish, their 流沙包 and 菠萝叉烧包 is also worth the try!

Tae Woo Korean Restaurant @ The Central Clark Quay

One of the best Ja Jung Myeon in Singapore! Found this place from forums and is highly recommended by the Koreans working in Singapore.

It has a reputation of a "very homely taste".

Here is it:

And a highly recommended dish: Korean Style Sweet & Sour Pork, but then...... i felt that Singapore's version is nicer.

This place is always filled with Koreans speaking customers, which i assume they are Koreans.

San Lou Bee Hoon @ Restoran Ah Kaw 亚九

San Lou (Third storey) Bee Hoon is a well known dish in Johor Bahru.

The bee hoon is pressed against the hot wok to make the bee hoon slightly charred with the surface crispy while retaining the softness in the inside.

Restoran Ah Kaw proudly declared that this dish originates from them and you will see that this bee hoon is served on almost every tables of the eatery.

Compared to other San Lou Bee Hoon, it is slightly less crispy. However the Bee Hoon is saturated with a rich and flavourful stock which makes this dish really good.

Worth another visit!

Buffalo Wings @ Sunset Grill & Bar (Jalan Kayu)

After hearing of this place for so long, finally get to try after they move to Jalan Kayu!
Basically i had a shock when i looked at the menu and it's so damn expensive. One main course is about $30.00 and just a plate of Aglio Olio is $18.00.
But this place is mostly about their wings, with spiciness ranging from Level 1 to Level 35.
Legend says that you will get a certificate and enter their wall of fame if you can finish their level 30 chicken wings.
As a start, i tried their level 5 and the waiter already warned me that level 5 is going to be spicy.
My friend too warned me that his friend was literally crying after eating Level 5.
Verdict? Level 5 is quite ok for me. Not too spicy and still manage to taste the sweetness of the well-fried wings and the punch of the buffalo sauce.
Overall, i prefer Jerry's wings but this is way better than hooter's.
Next challenge - Level 8! Still a long way to Level 30...

B.K.T by Kong Kee @ China Street Far East Square

Anyone bought this deal too? $10.00 for $20.00 worth of food.

Since it's near my work place, i decided to try this out.

I ordered the black klang style bak kut teh, the dry klang style bak kut teh, tao kee and a bowl of kway teow soup.

I think that only the dry style bak kut teh is worth eating.

The black klang style is ok, decent, but does not has a wow factor for me. Interestingly, they are not able to refill the black bak kut teh soup so they refilled the white version for me. How's the white version? It's rather blend and i can only taste the peppery taste but no the sweetness of the soup.

And ya, this is the smallest bowl of bak kut teh that i had even eaten, although the soup can be refilled.

This is what i'm saying, the dry klang style bak kut teh. It's rather pricey, at S$12.00 per portion.

Piping and sizzling hot when it's served and the sauce of the pork rib is full of punch with the added grilled cuttlefish flakes and dried chilli.

Pork rib is tender and little effort is required to tear the meat from the bone.

This should be the one and only reason if i am coming back to B.K.T.

Mouth Restaurant at Plaza Singapura. Only like their Liu Sha Bao and the banana fritters
