what happen to the pics? i'm just about to show my friend the best santorini shots i have seen

thanks for the heads up. i have amended the broken links :-)

3 medium format cams?? haha, of coz not. 1 medium format + 1 SLR is enough to kill me. the shots were taken with the same cam at different timings. i do my own scanning, so the developing fee at $5/roll is still acceptable.

thanks for the heads up! i never know there is this exhibition! it sounds interesting.

this was straight out from my scanner (canoscan 8800f). i only resized and sharpened the images for posting on web. i guess the scanner "auto-correction" feature works pretty well. :D

u could have say right ahead that your old fashioned rolleiflex is older than you many yrs .. and cameras in those years, manual and mechanical, probably don't even have a hot shoe attached, they make as nice pix as the latest full frame digital.. and you are such a lazy person with min knowledge about photoshoping.. blahblahblah.. ;p

Thanks for the great pix.. i shall bring my rolleiflex there too.. i'll prefer winter, when the place receives no tourist, just me. :)

omg i believe u bring lots of camera there? lol

#22, View from Imerovigli - the entire hike from Fira, via Firostefani and Imerovigli, to Oia takes around 3 hours and offers fantastic views of the caldera and Aegean sea. it's an experience not to be missed when you are in Santorini. (Fujichrome Astia 100F)

Can’t believe I actually left out Mykonos photos in the post. Here’s some more to share.

Let’s start off with some food porn 1st…

#26, Moussaka - the bottom layer consists of eggplant slices sautéed in olive oil; the middle layer is ground lamb cooked with onion, garlic, chopped tomatoes, herbs, and spices; and the top layer is cheese.

#29, Petros the pelican. Some background story to share on the mascot of the island:

In 1954 a fisherman of Mykonos found a wounded pelican.
He nursed it and after it had recovered the pelican stayed. It was fed by the local people of the island. And they named him Petros.
After a while it became the official mascot of the island.
Petros became so famous that all of Greece was saddened when he died in 1986.
Jackie Kennedy donated another pelican, named Irene-Irini, and the Hamburg Zoo sent a pelican named Petros.
A few year ago, another wounded young pelican fell to the island and was cared for by the local people. This one was named Nikolas.

Cool! Can't wait to see pictures from the Master :D haha, okk just joking. I know you don't like to be called master ;p

i will take your recommendations to hike from Fira to Oia.
thanks for sharing.

Hey, thanks. And have fun in your trip! But i'm not sure if the hike is doable during winter. I've read that Greece islands could be hit hard by storms during winter. And the day time will be much shorter too.

...and I left my heart in this thread.

I know i will never get the chance to be there, but looking at your photos help to remind myself the beauty of the world.
It is mindblowing,really.

Yeah, that's very true, velasco.
Icy, although I missed viewing your thread when you started it way back in July 09,
now that I discovered this, I kept coming back to view them.
And now your newer addition!
Very inspiring travel work.
Thank you for sharing.

Astonishing! Such clarity. May I know what type of lenses did you use? I presume that you used a Nikon F5? Makes me want my old film camera back..:cry:
