Well, both my 75mm and 28mm summicron back focus whenever I focus on an object more that 2 meters away. At 5m, my 75 back focus for 30cm. All this while, I was thinking that it’s my fault as I wear bifocal spectacles and encountered difficulty in focusing the 75mm when fully open. I started experimenting with a 1.25x magnifier, than add a +1.5 dioptre and when I finally got hold of the 1.4x magnifier, I realise that its really not my fault. I adjusted, following the Brad Reiman's threads at L-Camera-forum on my M8. Now, all my focusing is right on for both lens. :)

how did u do that?

i have a 75mm Summilux, n i always try to shoot pictures in f1.4 or f2.0, but photos always turn out slightly out of focus.

i m using M7. care to share yr experience or the web page that i can go to?

thanks very much.

Hi Benny, thanks for posting the link on my behalf.

Hi Dennis, this link will show you exactly where to adjust, for the M8 that is. I am not too sure for the M7.

Here is what I did for my M8.

1) Check the near focus using the chart I got from the link below,
http://focustestchart.com/chart.html

2) Check the focus at 5m on a contrasty object.

3) Check my infinity focus. I did this by focusing on some antennas on top of a condo about 1/2 Km away.

4) Adjust using a 2mm allan key. I did only 3 adjustments even though the 1st one was wrong way.

5) After every adjustment I will just check infinity focus only. Once its spot on, I went back to check item 1) and 2).

6) Finally, I re-check my infinity focus on a full moon a couple of nights ago.

All the focus were spot on.

Please note that the above is what I did for my M8. Do it at your own risk, I would not be liable for any damage resulted from this post.
