enter the XE-1
You could say I am very late into the whole mirrorless game. I took some test shots with the fujifilm xe-1 that I bought as a gift to leila for her 28th birthday.
I am amazed at how this tiny camera can create such big shot images that I thought was only possible with big dslr machines.
And to think this market has not even matured yet, makes it even more terrifying what more the future has in store!
I shot this with the 35 f1.4 fujinon at f1.6 and did very little processing (vertical distortion and some minor colour tweaking and sharpening.)
Man.. now I really want another set for myself, would make a good camera for in between moments and leisurely dates.

XE-1 night exposure
first real test shot with the fujifilm xe-1.
I'm more a user than a specs kinda photographer. So since I found a cable that I could use with my existing phottix aion, that only means I can do what I do best.. night photography.
This is not a straight out of camera image. I wanted to see how the xe1 would stand with my normal workflow and I was extremely, pleasantly surprised it held up really well!
I shot 3 raw exposure and digitally blended them together with vertical distortion correction. The noise was great even at a long exposure of 50 seconds which is basically what you see in this image.
I would be comfortable taking this camera out instead of my 5dmk2 to create beautiful imagery. Yes it is that good.
If you are in the market for a new camera, do have a look at it and you may be pleasantly surprised as I have.

Glad to be in it!welcome to fuji. lol
Yes I agree!I have a Fuji X100 and it brings a smile to my face whenever i shoot with it. Fuji makes great cams.![]()
Yes, I'm aiming at the 14mm for the next lens but a 10-24 would be nice too! For now I have the 18-55 kit lens which i can do panoramas if I need it wider.I totally agree with this. Can't say much about how it compares to FF since I don't own one. But the X-E1 makes me not want to shoot with my beloved K5. It does have a few irritating "shortcomings" at the system level for the moment as far as shooting landscapes is concerned, but nothing that cannot be overcome with right accessories.
Can't wait for the new UWA zoom to be released - it will complete the Fuji X system for my needs.![]()
Thanks man, I'm processing another panorama I did. Should blow your socks off. =PGreat shots as usual. St Andrew's was especially lovely.
Nice use of the puddle.I love this church so much but have always found it a challenge to compose it in a good way. I guess I've found a solution with the heavy downpour leaving a lovely reflection thus making the composition timeless and leading you the viewer to linger longer.
Well, I knew the risk of shooting near a puddle on the road next to oncoming traffic but to see a driver deliberately swerve and drive through the puddle to splash the water onto my camera only makes me loose faith in humanity.
Although no damage was done to my camera, I had a mild panic attack when the camera and remote was not responding to one another... But after a wipe down and good blowing (stop right there with the dirty thoughts) it worked fine.
