I have different views. Photography is creative art, no doubt some technicalities is needed but it shudn't be held on so tightly. 135 may be de facto standard to u, but to me its medium format. If technicalities is so strictly observed, then newbies shud be learning everything in manual & using a light meter.
Things change, we need to adapt also. Eg, like the stock exchange, many yrs ago, there were plenty of people on the ground physically trading, but now when u walk into SGX, only computers terminals. However knowledge of the laws governing stocks/shares is still a must. Get my point?
Not to mention 645 is actually a 4:3 aspect ratio.
