Hi, i have been away from the video industry for quite sometime and have basically lost all my contacts and now i am back again. I intend to get the HPX-172 and was wondering any good lobangs/price/place where i can get this set?

i like this camera after using it only a couple of times.
the dynamic range is pretty good

but p2 cards abit ex.

u might want to consider a sony nx 5 which uses standard SD cards

or you can consider the canon XF-300 which records on CF cards @ 50Mbps, 4:2:2.

CF cards cheap and 32GB gives u 80mins recording time at highest res.

I believe blade777 was trying to get a recommendation of dealer for Panasonic instead of recommendations of camera?

My preferred dealer is Sensys for panasonic stuff.

You may contact SENSYS. I think they are the main supplier for Panasonic video cameras in SG. Their office cum warehouse is at Bukit Batok.

I own the hpx172 for a year... was really good in terms of workflow. Really fast and reliable. 422 colour sampling and intra-frames great for post... very light camera for handholding... but picture a little soft compared to competition. AVCHD is IMHO for people who have more time in their hands...

I second Sensys. Been dealing with them for years and they are good.

Other Panasonic dealers here are Medios Associates & LSV. Dont go to Expandore. The Panasonic cameras they sell are export sets. So there is no local warrantee.
