7-14mm cannot mount filters?
Didn't know that our people here don't innovate or read the news.
Shlew made a ring adaptor from a peanut butter cap for the cokin square filter to fit his 7-14mm.
No vignetting, not bad looking and doesn't even cost a dime.
Of course when you compare the compactness of the 9-18mm then it is sooo slim, hands up to that.
Just that extra 2mm can cover so much ground should you be in a situation where you are shooting a vast landscape.
Doesn't hurt to get a wider than wide except the price really hurts the 7-14mm, cost like an L-lens yet ranked as a normal lens instead of a pro lens.

Will like to mount a polarizer + Lee ND grad filter + standard ND filter. Is that still possible?

Of course if you want to DIY anything also can mount anything. Want to attach 10 butterflies to your lens also possible, just that all the nature lovers will stone you. Just like NTUC plastic bag can carry camera also. :bsmilie:

Some people might not be comfortable using a PB cap to hold filters, just like I'm not comfortable using a NTUC plastic bag to carry my camera around. There also doesn't seem to be any locking mechanism or screwing mechanism to ensure that the filter holder stays in place. There's a reason why lens manufacturers put in filter threads for lenses. Sure, that should not have any problems angled upwards or when it is level, but when it's angled downwards , especially for long exposures, it may well slide off.

Yes, you are be right about the falling off part and I had my fair share of dropping stuff. :cry:
But a m43 sensor's maximum exposure is 4min and if the adaptor is done right just like the 7-14mm cap ($17 replacement), shouldn't it be able to hold for that period.
Of course the only time it will come off unnoticed is when we are busy doing something else (happened to me ... )
PS: I do carry my GH1 in a plastic bag sometimes as it allows me to blend into the people easily.

But why would you want to attach 3 filters unless one of the ND is a GND?
A CPL on a wide angle will cause uneven sky... happened on my FE and people are still laughing about it.

I use CPL to cut out glare (e.g. waterfall over rocks), not just to point at the sky. GND is used to even out the exposure and ND is to lengthen the overall exposure time.

Just make sure your mod is capable of taking the weight then you are all set to go.

thanks for all the links. look like i can grab 7-14mm + EVF before leaving few days later.
may not have time to DIY now, but at least now i know i can do it in near future...

The 7-14 is one of the star lenses of the M4/3 system. You will enjoy the lens.
