Thanks Soken.

Not sure for flash but for tripod, it was not allowed. The picture was taken from the last row.

I personally think the details of their face is quite ok, not sure what kind of details you want to see:) Let me know if you want to see the individual pics of them.

Cheers,
V

Nice shoot!

In that case, it's not allowed to use flash right?

I want to use flash as I want to see the details of the face :)

Hi, would like the individual pics thank you bro.
I have seen some one post the orchard catwalk in CS, I guess most of them used flash but it was quite dark there.

the details of the face, I mean the light, the face should not be as dark as the background, although it was the natural light. haha, that's the problem I got when I shoot in the orchard catwalk. The faces were so black that I want to do some ps.

I just don't know how to shoot at dark, I don't have a lens with big aperture, except the 50 F1.7. And I may use iso at 400 but not more. I need to learn a lot to shoot at dark.

Next time when I shoot in aa catwalk like this, I may shoot one pic with flash on, one w/o flash :)

I will send you tonight as I don't have them with me now.

Btw, I don't think it's a lens problem, it's more on how to get the technique right:) Fyi, I don't even own a f1.7 lens, only own beercan and mini beercan so far.

You may want to try the setting from http://tinyurl.com/ckatpv ,although it's for A700 but you can try to apply what is available for your A200, no harm to try anyway:)

AFAIK, A200 high ISO result is better than A700 so you may want to try ISO 800 or 1600.

Cheers,
V

Bro, correction, it is ISO 1600 is better than ISO 800. I don't know why but during one of the review lab test it stated too. And i tried it out and i found out at ISO 800, it is much more noisy than ISO 1600. Only for Alpha 200.

cheers :)

@Soken, sorry bro yesterday can't manage to post, here you are.

All photos were taken with A200 and beercan, handheld and without flash. C&C is welcome too:cool:

Hi,vibranze,

thank you for the pics.
They are very nice taken

the pictures looks good man.
what iso you using bro?
ISO400?
:)

Yoo bro Kelvin,

I can't remember but I believe it was taken with ISO200.

I don't know why I always like to use ISO200 for any condition, even in low light condition.

Remembered there was a Nikon guy beside me, using a bigger than beercan lens and his preparation (kind of doing some exercise, scretching here and there and some other movement pattern) really make me laugh:P

For outdoor events,

Advised to get those lens that can zoom or very good telephoto lens with range up to 300mm as you will sometimes faced difficulties in getting close shoots with a fixed lens.

If money is not a problem, you can get sony DT 18 - 250 / DT 16 - 105 (If you need a slightly better wide angle). Pls note these are lenses for Sony APS-C Cameras and not Sonly Highest range Sony DSLR A900 though they supported these lenses but you lose resolution using these lenses on A900.

For indoor events,

Get the wider aperture you can find like F1.4 - 2.8 range. Also advisable to get a Flash like HVLF56 / 58. You will need flash that give you full control.
