Interesting....I buy L lens so that I can treat it roughly....knowing that it can take more beatings then a regular EF lens....Some people buy it to protect it?:bsmilie:

Almost no protection...
Just keep an eye on the surrounding and "protect" it.

Oh~ Btw, i do have some form of protection..... I bring a rain coat i bought from Zoo when it was raining back then... As its is compact, i.e. covered in a small plastic package i always put it in my camera bag....

Case Study: Vietnam
Went Vietnam then rain.....covered myself and bag and walk back to hotel.... voila bag and camera all dry.. but i am wet partially... (on the exposed part) since then, i made it a point to keep one such rain coat for emergency......

Just my personal experience....

Aiyoh u buy things are for usage so after a while definitely will show some wear and tear even with so called protection. If want to keep in such prestine condition, then don't buy, somemore can save money.

Take your L lens and place it in a 400kg safe which money changer uses, like that can also buy insurance incase of theft ;p
