How to pronounce Nikon?

I think if u use the japanese way (which i think we should since nikon is a jap brand) it is nee-kong... notice the 'g' .

AS for the american way, its naikon... just like "semai-circle", "saimultaneous equations".

Just to digress... anyone know y Japanese do not put crabs into their steamboat?

Sometimes, it's not how you pronounce it but getting it to your intented audience, making them understand you!

I have to speak in Japlish in Japan, Koglish in Korea and Italian English in Italy to get to the people better... when you forgot/do not the terms or native languages.

Just like in Singapore, one tends to speak Singlish... speaking proper English makes some uncomfortable... so whatever that works lah, that's what communication is for after all, right?

Shrug.. personal opinion i guess.. But i think its important to at least get a person's name right.. and for this case.. brand name

Name yes... Brand name wise, you need to speak like the local to get what you want, if not no one will understand (if they don't try)... that's for shopping.

Well well... I agree with oeyvind that when you are shopping, whats the point of using lexicon which the saleman does even understand.

But as I point out again.. its my personal preference to at LEAST know what is the proper pronounciation of the word and hey its just one of my quirky habits to ask or search through the dictionary for words i do not understand or do not know how to pronounce.


And if you think that its worth your time to continue to argue with me over this topic.. some advice from Dr. Quack "Don't waste your time" :what:
