How to help clubsnap become a world class forum?

Agree, that also caught my eye when reading all the postings. Where does this idea come from to make a forum "world class"? Spare time and leisure activities cannot become "world class", they are done by individual persons. If a couple of persons have the same idea about it they gather and form a group - that's what we see here in CS: forum, gatherings, common activities. So where does the "world class" virus come from?
Some answers I got in other forums and chats were far beyond what is considered 'rude' here in CS and in Singapore. But to be honest, those comments helped me most. The shocking moment woke me up and I found the solutions on my own. Much better than any spoon feeding.
But many people cannot take these kind of comments. So what to do? Starting a flame war? Complain to mods and admins? Banning the person because of wrong words? I suggest to sit back and relax. First of all: it is one's own perception if a posting is considered rude or not. If one perceives a posting as rude it doesn't mean it was intended that way. So cool down, have a walk in the park and ponder about the answer given ... before you dig out the battle axe.

To make this a world class forum, the standard way would be to rename it to "Integrated FotoPolis Hub" and keep reiterating "world class" until people start to believe it.
I, too had the notion of "world class" when the person at one of the exhibition complimented that this forum was mentioned and highly praised by a Singapore minister. He invited me to join this forum and that it is internationally renowned and draws huge participation. That gentleman was between 40 to 50 years old. I think the TS may not be the only one perceiving that this forum aims to be one, or like me, I thought it was one. I felt sorry for the minister who quoted this site. :bsmilie: Well, all human make mistakes, just learn from it, I guess...

Why all this obsession with becoming world class in Singapore? A humble dish may not taste as exquisite as a 7-star restaurant dish, but sometimes it's just the thing you're craving. And a kopitiam (coffeeshop) where you can be yourself may be more comfortable than said restaurant where you have to watch your manners all the time.

Lets just start of trying to make it a better place. Be graceful in offering and accepting C&C. Be genuine and sincere with comments. Be willing to share knowledge and not be afraid that the other guy is gonna end up taking better photos than you..... I frequent a few photo forums and I find that in forums where members are more willing to share, teach and encourage each other ... the community is a lot more warm and fun.
I don't see an infraction on your profile. Look at mine. I have one infraction and see the thread that started it. Until now I still think it is pretty unfair....
I mean I got an infraction for what??? mild sacarsm?? while the mod uses words like RUBBISH DECEIVING ETC.... and I end up with the infraction....

For me,i don't even get PM about my infractions most of the times and i know why.

One thing I'd love to see is more pictures posted in the critique corners, as well as the sub forums. More!
Maybe an online gallery specifically to showcase the best photos of ClubSNAP. Or competitions open to members' submissions.
I'm sure it will generate alot of interest, maybe even a newspaper spot, if response is good enough
