how to get such colors?

that's how Rashkae does it.

that's how it is. with prosperity, most of the people have already forgotten how it is to look first for themselves to find the answer.

"ask, and it shall be given. seek, and you shall find. knock, and the door shall be open unto you".

good and well. however, too much of that only invites us to be lax with our kids in the future.

ever hear a kid go "mummy, daddy... i want that! i want that! awwww c'mon give it to me".

"spare the rod and spoil the child" also applies to CS in a way.

there are already a few out there. we gave them a few answers, and they're forever after asking questions without bothering to find out for themselves.

Yea.. tt's Rashkae. We're so used to this le.. i myself being on the receiving end when i first joined and didnt knw the existence of the Search button. hahaha..

and we now have some inspirational philosophy by Takuya Kimura..

1 simple question and after 18 reply. The TS still don't get the answer. :dunno:
Here you go TS

Tt's true hor.. lol

Imagine in school u ask the teacher a question.
Teacher replies.... "Google it !"

Teacher won't say google it. But will give you hell for not reading the textbook. LOL.

BTW teachers get paid. people here don't.

and claiming being not able to find it? it happens pretty often in here... not because they really can't find it, but because they're lazy to do it.

i can tell you. from my experience doing projects in school, i do know groupmates who'll give excuses that they can't find the topic on google. but i can just type in one word and show it to them...and they'll just shut up and keep quiet. these are the parasites, the freeloaders.

Exactly. It's bizarre how you can get the info with 1 quick search yet people say they "could not find". In other words, they didn't actually search and are expecting someone to hold their hand and type for them.

Why imagine? It's a reasonable answer for the higher levels of Sec or A levels. The school teaches you the basics: reading, writing etc. It's your job to apply these skills.
Even when I was in Sec1 and Internet was something that only existed in military .. when somebody in the class asked "Oh, which page in textbook is it?" the class teacher answered "There's a table of content for a purpose."
We are a newbie many times on our life, be it driving a car, travelling to an unknown country, serving in the army, raising a child .. No shame in that. But sad if people forget about common sense and some 'DIY' mentality.

oooo. well now you can reference this thread:

http://www.clubsnap.com/forums/threads/880275-Srgb-adobe-rgb-!?p=7114457

why do we say google? or yahoo? because with the time taken to open one thread...

i can find about a dozen links on Yahoo... read them all, possibly not even need to get anyone's opinion or help.

if you're in University or Polytechnic... you ought to get shot if you ask to be spoonfed. if you have the time to post here, you sure have the time to google the answer too.

i did something like that to a JC student who crossed over to poly and told her off... boy, was she p*ssed with me... even till now :bsmilie:

Eh who say JC students don't know how to Google one? I always use Google one, but yeah it may be true, I always have to Google things for my friends/classmates cuz they just don't think of it at all.

Truth is, not everyone is equally tech savvy or think of Google the first thing they come across a problem. We must accept that, and I don't think there's a need to be so harsh to them, unless they refuse to go and try to search even after being told to do so. In this case, it is forgivable as the first few responses said "curves", not "tone curves", and naturally if you Google "curves" it is unlikely you will come across something photography related.

my bad :embrass:

If you don't like what the TS ask, just walk away, go to another thread.
Don't throw sarcastic remark. Throwing sarcastic remark like "Google it" doesn't make you atas.

hi my dear sir. ClubSNAP runs on servers. do you know what the costs are? i'm sure you don't. each thread takes up space. space cost money.. and traffic takes up bandwidth.

if everyone starts threads to ask questions that 1) can be easily searched out on their own, 2) can be found elsewhere in this forum or 3) just asking for the answer without any initiative...

then who's paying for the costs? are you?

there are seniors here to help, no doubt. but if people can spare the time to actually search, they'll realize they'll find their information faster than it takes for someone to reply the question.

dont mean offense but if we're spending every thread from every question asked from every newbie arguing over why he should google it we'd be taking up more posts than simply answering him with one reply...

i meant isn't that the idea of forums in the first place? To communicate with each other?

perhaps some people prefer the human touch rather than letting google decide which information is right or wrong for him (google doesn't always give the right answer).

my bottomline is I somewhat agree with underexpo, that if you don't want to encourage such behaviour, simply do not reply. Flaming them or trolling them achieves nothing

I don't care about any "atas" image at all. But blatant laziness gets me. If you don't like what I say, just walk away, go to another thread. Don't bother commenting. Throwing remarks like "just walk away" don't make you a boss.

that if you don't want to encourage such behaviour, simply do not reply.

Then they just keep bumping their thread or cross-posting complaining that nobody wants to hold their hand and give them the easy answers.

Let's make this simple. Those who don't mind spoonfeeding people, please go help the TS.

Those who cannot stand it, don't stand. Find some other place and sit. Other people hoping to find the answer have to go through so many posts about 'why don't you google bla bla bla'. If you google or search this forum for some of the solution, there is a good chance that you will find hundreds of post. The irony is, most of the posts will have the same 'why can't you google? why must i spoonfeed?' posts. this makes things even more inefficient and creates a vicious cycle.

And it's always the same few ppl saying the same old things. It's getting old fellas, just leave em alone yea?

Oh the other hand, i really appreciate some helpful ppl in the forum who are so helpful and patient. Thumbs up!

chill guys!

anyway, one had to depend on yourself if u want to learn. Look at my history, from a totally non PP person... i self explored and now I can do simple PP. Although I am still very much against too much PP so I try to be as original as possible most of the times. :D

maybe the kopitiam section should be taken away then? so much spam in there.. waste of money right?

I second that, and for someone who quote the "ask, and it shall be given. seek, and you shall find. knock, and the door shall be open unto you". The bible also told us to clothe yourselves with compassion, KINDNESS, humility, gentleness and PATIENCE.

I think if you are not happy with the question, just walk away, post a "google it" remark will add additional cost to our server as it takes up one more space.

Everything & anything can be found in Google, then why border to join forum?

Sarcastic remark can be found on CS very often when question was ask. I seldom see or don't see it in dpreview.com for example. Only helpful replies are posted or thread are left alone to fade off......,,

i second sinned79 that we should all knock it off.

before accusations fly,

one thing to take note: i did supply the answer to TS, as did some of the seniors here. underexpo, please read before saying no one helped TS till late in the thread. we all did.

lastly, we all joked in the beginning, but did we give the answer? yes we did.

as for patience, you can see that for most of us, we do have patience. but when people come in accusing us of things we didn't do, flinging accusations, and bringing up the topic of "senior said to go google", you'll see plenty of heated words.

if you want to see who started flinging accusations, i'm pretty sure you all know who started it here. we all have patience. but where do we draw the line?

@Crazyson: Kopitiam serves a totally different purpose. you're bringing that into photography talk? you came into add oil to the fire? shame on you

Underexpo, you stirred up emotions in here. be nicer with your words. P1840, before you accuse me of not being patient: did i not give the answer? did i hurl random insults? did i say to google? no i didn't. i rebuked, yet i gave the answer. that's the equivalent of teaching in a more serious manner.
