erm first you mix it into stock solution from the powder.
then from the stock solution u mix it down (dilute) into working solution (this is the one u use as the hca).
u can make 19 litres of working solution with the 502g of powder in the packet using 15 litres of water. so u just dump the whole bag in a big pail, pour 15 litres of water in. BUT, that is not practical because where u want to store so much solution?! haha. hca is reusable.
so for a typical 2-roll tank (those plastic ones) u only need about 600ml to 1 litre. i keep about 600ml myself that i reuse each time i develop.
the packet says to make 3.8 litres of stock solution, use 3 litres of water, with the 502grams of powder in the packet (if yours is the 502g one lah).
so, for every 1 litre of stock u need (3L) / (3.8) * 1 = 800mL of water or so. then, u need 502g / (3.8) * 1 = 130g or so. 130g = 4.5 ounces, and 4 ounces = 1/2 a cup (those baking measuring cups).
so what i did was i measured 800mL of water, 1/2 cup of stock powder, to get 1 L of stock solution.
then i diluted the stock solution using 1:4 ratio (because 3.8L of stock makes 19L of working solution), to get my working solution.
that's it!
