Hi there, I have question but some may find it dump question and i apologise.
I'm quite new in video and i want to do something crazy, i want to record something and show it live on screen. So basically while I'm recording the shot, people from other side can see at the same time.
So how can i do it and what kind of device must i use, beside projector and camcorder.
Please advice.

Thank you.

Hi Which1,

Basically, your camcorder must have a Video Out port.
Then you need the appropriate cables that can link the Video Out port to the Input of the projector.

The Video Out port could be in the form of RCA, S-Video or HDMI...
Therefore your cable must correspond to these as well.

Hi Azman,

Thank you for your reply. Appreciate it.
But my doubt is location wise. I be running around with videocam, can't afford to have long cable for that :(
example like Yishun to Bukit Batok.
Is there something like bluetooth divice..., i'm not sure.
What else can i use beside long cable?

Yishun to Bukit Batok live is possible but expensive.
What's your budget?

Hi there,

Actually i'm not sure about the budget as i don't know what is the price of that. or maybe i could rent out the device.
Do you know anything about that device?

One solution uses the air & the other solution is being buried in the ground...my device can only provide reliability of up to 400m line of sight transmission on the maximum.

No rental available in this part of our region, but we have the experience to provide such services.

Hi DXN,

Thank you for the reply. Appreciate it.
I'm not sure how does it look like nor the price of it, but somehow i think that device is small.
hmmm... but can i rent it out, or is it very complicated to use?
Please advise.

Hi DXN,

I have goggle it and found the name, 'Tricaster'. It is super expensive and seems complicated.
Looks like i need to try another option. :(
Thanks guys!

Hi Guys.

Just a thought.
Would it be practical to transmit the video via the internet ?
Use a simple 2.4 GHz transmitter & receiver set from the vidcam to the computer.
Live footage is sent via the internet.
Computer on the other side stream it down and project it using the projector.

The basis of your idea is right, but definitely not as simple as you think.
when 'live' and realtime baseband video is required, usually people would settle for a compromise once they find out the cost of LIVE.

By having a delayed telecast of 1 hour can mean more than a few thousands bucks of savings.

hi guys,

Azman - that idea, i did came across but its kinda troublesome.
Anyhow i will try to buy any cheap wireless transmitter and receiver and try to convert the transmitter to battery operated and increase the distance of transmitting,
because most of the cheap transmitter using power adaptor and the distance is very near.

From your post ... it seems that budget IS an issue ...

Why is there the situation in the first place where a client needs live broadcasting but don't have budget to do it?

Even internet downstreaming needs a large budget because the server must be able to handle it as well. But in the first place, the equipment to gona kill the budget.

You can look into Justin.tv for some streaming solutions but its mainly for 'webcam' streaming.

If only it was that simple, I wouldn't have to invest in so much money buying high end video equipment. :D

Exactly, even those wireless transmitter cost few hundred each and you need a receiver too. Those can only max out at 50-100 meters for clear transmission. Sending data from 6th floor down might even be an issue. Dun talk about from yishun st 1 to yishun st 2.

hmmm... ok did try it, but could not work in increasing the distance...

anyhow, does anybody knows the market price for ship naming ceremony?

hmmm... ok did try it, but could not work in increasing the distance...

Of course it can't work in increasing the range.
You're talking about increasing the radio frequency transmitting power and not increasing voltage supply. The only physical thing that you can do is to change antennas to increase the transmission gain, but that alone involves a certain level of engineering knowledge in RF technology.

Even a super duper high gain antenna will cost quite a lot of money, plus the fact that you're not licensed to operate on wireless for long distance transmission.

The last ship related ceremony we did was to supply multicam system for projection, 1 cam on ground to cover the shore, and 1 microwave camera on board the ship with wireless link to shore....it was in tuas, so ship can be within 400m line of sight within the range of my systems.
