Hi! All. Am trying to take the milky way from our light polluted skies. Any special way to capture it & how to process the image in photoshop? Have tried using Justin Ng's ETTR trick. Can see more stars than my naked eye can see. But still doesn't show the milky way center. Can see Scorpio so far. Been trying this month on nights around 8:30pm to 9pm. Aiming at the south east angle. Tried iso 6400 f4 for 5secs, or iso 400 for 30sec f2.8. But not able to see the milky way centre still.

Thx for the advice. Can I check also the place where i'm standing must be dark too? Cause i've been trying to take from my flat's corridor where the fluorescent lamps are quite bright

While my backyard is most likely significantly different to yours, something I suggest you at least try is a Light Pollution filter.
Google "IDAS LP2 or D1". The filter reduces or mitigates the effect certain forms of light pollution have. No magic bullet, go to the center of Australia for that, but it might help.
