There is no right or wrong, if you have the discipline to pay, by all means go ahead.
Personally, buying a Camera Body is just the start.. Everyone have the capability to Justify any purchase we want, with whatever creative payment mode we want to, as you move along that, you will want more good glasses, gadget, etc. it is never ending.
Getting into debt is very much like slow poison, you get deeper into it very subtly, start off with you justifying the purchase "I need this for this", then make the move "I can and have the discipline to manage the payments", after that all should be good for a while, until one fine day when you are bored with your current purchase, the cycle will start again, and again... by the time you realised your debt problem, it is already too late. I heard too many cases of people paying minimal payment for credit cards with all their salary, etc. some get out of it, some don't.
For me I pay cash for my gear, I use CC for travel and other purchases, I pay when the bill comes.

You also can consider other options, if it is a job, you can consider rental. if your Job cannot cover rental and give you good profit, you should not take the job at all. If for hobby, do it within your means, rent or borrow or get a camera you can afford.
To TS hope you don't see all these advise as a cold shower, most people advise you out of goodwill.
