I haven't touched the camera, only seen it in pictures, hence I shall reserve my comments about the image quality & camera specs & these and that.
My personal view, I stress... my personal view... I feel that Leica is a little too late in coming out the medium format game. Where most of the professionals who can afford USD30k+ on a camera body alone would have already invested in a setup, who would ditch their system and go for an untested system for another USD40K to USD60K at least?
For those photographers who use a 35mm FF DSLR for commercial shoots maybe the next upgrade could be a Leica S2, but... why would they want to invest in the $%#@& expensive Leica glasses that could only be used on the S2 where they have an array of AF lenses cater for ALL different kinds of purposes at ONLY a fraction of the price of a Noctilux?
From what I see, on the business angle, Leica is trying to win the hearts of die heart fans who have pretty deep pockets and drive Aston Martins. A niche market where identity plays an important part. I really hope they do really well for this group of users. Whether they are large or small, that really have to depend on the number of Aston Martins on the road.
