How many would you bring?

24-105 and a prime 35 or 50

I using 50D
lens to bring
one wide angle 11-16mm F2.8
and 17-55mm F2.8
Flash 580EX

For those of you who bring 3 or more lenses + camera + tripod... how do you bring them? Do you put them in checked luggage or do you bring them on board with you?

Camera and lenses on board. Tripod in suitcase. My Sirui comes with a travel bag which I can fit both the tri & mono pods and use the same ballhead.

I guess personally I should travle light with two lenses and a tripod, at most. The 24-105 will be the primary and its between a 50 mm or another zoom. Equally divided between whether to bring a telephoto zoom or wide angle - but I guess I can always shoot higher pixels and crop if needed. Think it will be up to my mood on the day I am packing... :)

2 lenses, and a tripod at most. UWA being definitely one of them, and the other one will be my 18-135

I will bring my 3 lens ( 17-40, 24-70, 70-200 ) and tripod , make sure I would not miss any range. except UWA, and super zoom.... coz I dun need them so far for travel

Is this a photograph specific trip or will you be going with a general tour group? Depending on what type of vacation it is, you will need to consider how much time you will have to switch lenses and setup for shots.

bring 70-200F2.8 IS USM II, 16-35, 50F1.2, 85F1.2 Battery grip, 580Ex2 Flash, extra memory card, batteries, tripod, cleaning kit. a big carrier bag to put all these inside, not to mention u going to korea, put on more clothing if the weather is cold .. so come back on think, this photography trip or a holiday? you want to spend all your time shooting and carrying such heavy stuff?? or just something light?
