No big issue for user like me who adapt R lenses on Canon body.
Just like many discontinued system such as Olympus OM and Contax, good lenses will continue to hold and even appreciate in value.
I do look forward to the revamped R system with autofocus and new features.

Except if Leica R really turns out End-of-Line, might want even want to buy the R bodies and sell the lens-camera combo as a collector kit in future to better preserve value.
What do you'll think of this R9 system special clearance offer ?

Yes, the 90AA when from $1.7k to $2.1k in 24 hours!
I think that was a misprint cos the ebay store and eu-shphoto website posted different prices and was rectified soon. Perhaps EUR currency translation problems with the fickle currency
A little OT here. Did u guys hear the Leica M 50mm 1.4 Asph is an APO ? The chief lens designer said they couldn't market it as such but it is. Only the crazy guys at Leica will do apo for 50mm. Perhaps many of the Leica Rs are as well.

contacted with leica Germany and following issues to be cleared:
1. no R or R related system in future (another contax carl zeiss, lengendary collections)
2. no AF R or other AF full frame plan now since tech and money hurdle (support service, but nothing new coming, need money and FF chip)
3. M need reform and redesigned soon, so old M....hehe...next to be chopped (careful in old M investment, it is why no FF DRF), new M system or hybrid one coming
4. S2 make big profit, so HEMES and leica work hard to focus on S2 system or more high end one in future (like pentax 645D and other Medium format Digital plan)
5. leica more interested in Hybrid system (new items), this one still support old R lenses.

There are 2 prices quoted. If you buy within Germany, the price with 19% tax is $2.1k. If you buy from overseas, it is still $1.7K, but have to pay for postage.
I think its a good buy if you are on Holiday in Germany. Can claim the tax back at the airport. I am coming back in April. Dunno want to buy or not...

Received my Leica R 90mm APO. While waiting for the Leitax Nikon conversion kit, I shot it with my G1. My kid started arranging flowers in the playground and it turned out to be a macro shoot as well. This lens is a gem.
Given the 2x crop sensor, I think the bokeh will be much better when mounted on my D700.

changed R mount to K mount just now, will test on pentax K20D soon
Antelope Canyon in Page, Arizona is a photographer's dream. The colours reflected from the walls are just gorgeous. But at times, due to the number of visitors, it can be difficult to set up your tripod to get a good shot. Here is one shot with a R8/DMR + 35-70 f4.0 VE.

My first R lens - Cron35/2 rom, adapted to 5DMkII. Also my second manual lens. Have difficulty focusing with my not so accurate AF confirmation chip. Hope it will get better with the arrival of my matt focusing screen. have to save more $ to buy all the fanciful R lenses.
