officially, SAF does not let the public know. so if people want to leak out such info, they risk getting detained by MSD/ISD

hope some of u watched that show. now maybe u can understand my concern after listening to the expert's explainations. 4 possible ways here lightning can injure people, the one i am more concern is the one about lightning rod system itself can injure people as well as the one about metal railings.

after all, this year may alone, 3 cases of people send to hospital due to lightning.

if that is the case, why will channel 8 do this show, i remember this is not the 1st time they are doing a feature show about this issue.

Essentially they're juz trying to tell pple, don't take unnecessary risk.

If there's thunder, don't engage in high risk activities.

As for pple shopping in malls or passengers in an airplane, there's practically nothing to worrying about. It's common for lightings to strike airliners.. they're designed to conduct lightings safety.

If there's impending storm.. don't go and play golf in open space and be the "tallest" object in the vicinity and volunteered the shortest current path from ground to heaven........

Majority of those accident cases are those presenting themselves as easy targets.. Of coz there is the 0.0000000001% of low risk but still kena.. those are the extraordinary cases lah..
