How do you use your lx5?

hahas if the picture are such fast moving ones. Try shutter priority. If all else fails, don't be afraid to use iA mode since I still think its very intelligent.

Haha... thx for the tip! :)

Btw, noob qn, if im in iA mode, and the shot needs flash, will the flash pop up by itself like old time cameras? :) thx!!

when im in shutter priority, must i still tweak any settings? thX!

A mode for now. Single point AF.

Haha, even the ISO I leave it to Auto.

the flash you must release it in order to use it. The camera will not pop it up by itself. In auto mode you can choose what flash mode u want and it will respond accordingly. just press the quick menu button and u can see everything already.

In 'iA' or Intelligent Mode - select 'Happy' on the LCD and all your colors become ,,, HAPPIER, with more saturation and contrast.

BTW, 'iA' is the (almost) be-all-n-end-all mode of 'idiot proof' shooting.

The camera takes care of so much and is fairly 'intuitive' that it functions much like ... artificial intelligence! :bsmilie:

i put mine on iA happy mode. quite disappointed with my pictures of pple. :( overexposed....
am i doin things wrongly??

Hi, thanks for that, I must say the colours look very rich on Happy mode!

The thing is - I tried looking for it on my camera yesterday but couldn't find it? Probably didn't look hard enough under the iA menu. Will try again tonight...

you must first put it to auto mode before you can select it. Once in auto mode. press the bring up the menu and u will be able to see it. It will probably be standard for default setting. go change it! You'll find the colours really vibrant.

Look at the DIAL on top of the camera. That's where the iA Mode is.

Then go to the rear LCD and choose the 'HAPPY' mode.

Ceralz - the saturation increased and I suppose there is a marked compression of the dynamic range. I'm just guessing here. If the photos come out overexposed, can you use the dial at the rear to activate 'EV'? If yes, dial down some -EV. If not, show us the photos.

Guys,

Thanks, I found it last night, under Colour Effects. Now I'm Happy too! :p

guys, during M-mode. how do you adjust aperture?

Rotate the rear dial to set the aperture and shutter speed.
It will switch between aperture setting operation and shutter speed setting operation every time the rear dial is pressed.

Hi All, i find that the IA Happy mode seems to enhance the blue to be very striking. Does anyone have the same thought?

Cheers!
