How do you pronounce "Nikon"?

Nai-Con sounds horrible to me! The Nai sounds like the chinese word for Milk...

actually still not bad la, nikon (nai-kon "milk kon") secretly advertising that drink milk give us good bones and muscles to hold the camera firmly then no more blur pictures. (like that we can save up alittle by not getting the VR version of lens), LOL! ;p

In the Philippines, most of the photographers pronounce it as "Nee-con" but I've learned from my Filipino friends in the USA that they pronounce it as "Nai-con"

Nikon : Nee...kon
Milo : Mai...lo

Nai...kon and Mee...lo doesn't sound nice at least where I'm concerned.

In chinese it is 尼康, sounds like nee-hong.

Interesting thread. I prefer to call "尼康"as“泥坑”，those who is good in Chinese Language, you should know what I mean.

Incidentally, Canon's not spared.

There is, again, 2 pronunciations, CAN-EARN (with the N sound in front of earn, probably the more popular) and CAN-NON (which incidentally looks like cannon but not pronounced as such).

Funny, because neither of those is the Japanese pronunication. It's written kya non.
