How do i insert a image hosted on another web in such a way that it displays as a image and not a link here???

Use the [ I M G ] [ / I M G ] tag (pls ignore the spacing in between)

Alternatively, while u're on the posting message screen, use the IMG button and key in the URL for the picture and it should do it

Try to use the IMG button.

For ur case, I think it's cos u forgotten about the extension behind, eg, .jpg, .gif etc....
