How do I use histogram in live view shooting for D700?

Hi, I was puzzled how I could use the histogram on live view , or using view finder, on the D700. Appreciate your advice.

On the olympus 510 or 520, I can use the histogram directly while viewing, but not sure how the D700 histogram works. I know that I can see the histogram AFTER the image has been taken.

didn't know got such function :dunno:

you can find this in most P&S. I guess when you use live view, the mirror would be up, and it blocks the metering sensor. I'm not technologi expert but I think it's something like this.

Some expert should shed some lights.
