Would be a personal choice on the Holga that you want. Between the models, its just like an SLR/DSLR. Do you need a camera with on body flash or you prefer one with an external flash which is more powerful?

If the on body flash is not important, then what lens you want? A "glass" lens or one a plastic lens?

Also, do you need the 35mm adaptor and fisheye now? Not sure if you are aware but there is no frame counter when you are shooting 35mm on the 120. Even for frame spacing, its a total estimate; there a couple methods to help though.

yea.. its totally up to you and your available budget to decide which one you want to buy.. read more Holga reviews to help you in your decision.. but again, at the end of the day, you'll still have to decide which model your budget allows you to buy..

I got mine former Holga from Kholee.
Good deals! ;)

Thanks azzuri and crust.. I think I pretty much guess which model I will get with a bit of influence from this thread.. Hee..

Since fesc87 mentioned that the f models have weak flash and spoils easily, this sways me towards a non flash (but those wacky colours holga i loike only have for f models :( ). Anyways, every digicam i used, i hate switching on the flash, so it should be ok without a flash.. I can always mount the external flash if needed..

Glass vs Plastic | Sharp vs Dreamy.. I take sharp.. Maybe on a 2nd set of Holga, I will pick a dreamy..

Fisheye lens and adaptor, I may not know when i need it.. But since its in the package, might as well I get one for future use..

So all in all, im driving towards the G3 package even though i so want a coloured holga.. :kok: Fickle-lish me..

Those with internal flash, I don't really like it.
External flash you can use a colour flash + a diffuser but the internal flash, you can't do that.

But I think the final choice is down to you.
You want to carry light, get the internal flash. ;)

Alright!! Finally I got mine from Khloee just now.. Bought the G3 package with 2 rolls of normal films and 2 slide films from Ruby.. Immediately I start playing with it and exhausted 3 rolls (slide, normal, b&w film). Hopefully everything turns out nice although I suspect it may not due to me being a noobie..

Don't worry. Have confidence in yourself. ;)
But just a tip: Shoot in bright daylight, mostly it won't give you problem.

most people will go through 1 or 2 rolls before knowing how to get the correct exposure and what lighting condition to shoot in...have fun and post more pics to share! :)

Hi.. juz wanna ask.. how do you estimate the frame spacing for 35mm film using holga 120??

One of the ways is when you wind, hear 24 clicks. There is another way which i cannot recall off hand. I think when you turn 24 clicks, it should come back to one place and that should give you an idea.

I use this method..
If you're using pano 35mm adapter, then turn 1.5 turns to be safe.
if you're using a normal 35mm adapter, then turn about 1 turn and a few clicks, it equates out to be slightly less than 30 clicks.

Different people have different estimation.. ;)

Okays.. I sent them films to Triple D for development.. I be getting them on Wednesday.. Will post em (good ones only.. haha) once i got em back.. In the meantime i got maself a velvia50 and provia 100f films to play with.. =D

Just to share my experience about films (some heard from people's experience)..

Velvia 50/100 vs. Provia 100f: When x-pro, both gives a greenish feel, personally, provia is a film slightly cheaper than velvia. But when E-6, Velvia is much better.

Elitechrome 100 Ebx vs Ektachrome 100VS: This is similar to the velvia and provia comparison. Both turn out towards the blue in most cases when x-pro. But if you're talking about E-6 processing, the 100VS so much more vivid and saturated.

Sensia 100 vs Sensia 200: Sensia 100 gives a purplish-reddish feel, Sensia 200 gives a lime-green feel, in most cases when x-pro. E-6 will have more saturated/contrasting colours as compared to negatives film.

NOTE: All these are results in most cases when it's taken without overexposure or shooting against strong sunlight. :D

I'm not sure about the Agfa CT Precisa 100, Lomo X-pro slides and those expired "out of production" slides.

When we use the term E-6 in slide film, it means normal processing right..?? Or am I totally wrong with this..?

Yes.. E-6 means normal process with Slide Films.

i got my 120GN which has a hotshoe.

With that i managed to trigger my studio lights for some cool effects by using a trigger.

Also, with some sponge, you do not need to buy a 65-dollar adaptor to shoot 135 film. I think you should be able to learn this technique on the web.
