there is a plus to both sides. going out on photo outings with allow you to know more people who has the same interest as you, and you can learn from each other, share tips, etc... also, you won't get bored, but people still look at you and think "what is this bunch of photographers doing?" but you don't seem to notice only because you are in a group.

there are also advantages to shooting alone. and one very important aspect is that you think more. you don't have people telling you what they think is better, and you develop you own style of doing things and taking pics which shows what you want to convey and not what others want to convey. you shoot what you want to, and not others telling you to shoot that and not this.

so, i feel that it really depends on the situation. i like to shoot alone. but one of these days, i think i gonna meet some of these guys here, and discover the advantages of shooting in a group...

Try doing a search on 'California' or the name of the city you are in. I won't be surprised if something interesting turns up regarding any CS members residing there or somewhere in your region.

Some folks here visit LA or Frisco quite often too... u could always keep a look out for anyone announcing their travel plans here before they go and see if you could actually hook up with them.

I might actually want to visit soon, but the security situation is quite a hassle and a turnoff...
