i know there are software that allows you to recover deleted harddisk.
is there a way to truly delete from harddisk?
Open source Heidi Eraser released under a GNU General Public License (GPL), multiple options to securely wipe files, folders, unused disk space in compliance with US DoD 5220.22-M (NISPOM 8-306 /E) or US DoD 5220.22-M (NISPOM 8-306 /E, C and E) standard along with other purging or sanitizing of data remanence algorithms ranging from the Schneier's 7 pass to the Peter Gutmann's 35-pass.do the software you find online work?
Not true, a single and thorough wipe with useless bits of data in enough to counter data recovery even with highly advance and sophisticated Magnetic Force Microscope (MFM) or a Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM)/Transmission Electron Microscope (TEM) analysis in modern Hard Disk Drive (HDD).According to DoD, you have to overwrite it at least 4 times.

or wipe it out with electromagnet.
Siong.. :sweat::sweat:
or wipe it out with electromagnet.
May not be effective. Unless you take out the top cover and put the magnet directly on the disk.
The HDD inside already contain a very strong NiFeB magnet. If that magnet doesn't affect the data, it is unlikely that any magnet held above the top cover and shielded by the steel can do much to the data disk. corrupt some data maybe.. safety remove all data.. maybe not.. A car electromagnet magnet is different story.. but who can access to that readily?
u can just go tow a car. then ask that person longbang put the harddisk inside
Use a software to format the hard disk with random 1s and 0s for 7 times. This is the industry standard.
