How did they collect sound on this TV series - Departure?

One of the fav series i watch on youtube is 'Departure'. Its about 3 guys who decided to leave their jobs (in media and broadcasting) and travel around the world. Two of them plays the host while the third is the camera man.

In the early series, i could see the steady cam, slow mo camera (i think Sony FS700) and aerial cameras being used. Nowadays its just alot simpler.

What is more interesting is that they managed to capture sharp vocal even without clip on mike. In the closing credits, they had a longer credits for sound and post-production sound. Do anyone know how they do it?

Many thanks!

wow! Power! USD 1450!

Not the most expensive. Audio Technica used to make a AT895 intelligent capsule array mic that is upwards of $2500. The AT895 had 1 shotgun tube and 4 off-axis capsules. An onboard processor digitally subtracts the off-axis signals from the main signal producing an insanely 'dry' sound. Too bad it's no longer in production.

Nice!

But what's the economical version of this shotgun technology? Haha

Mass Order!

haha

But back to departure, i remb it was a OMO videographer. UNless they added a sound man? hmmm :bsmilie:

thanks for the link. The mic in question is the standard AGMC200G accessory mic. You might get better sound just from a rode videomic!
