How come nobody buy the 80-400mm VR lens??

I am using it with D200.... seriously.... The noise is very bad at iso400 for D200 at low lightings... if you were to upgrade, best choose a body that can give you a clean or near clean image at high iso....

Why need iso? the reason is to compensate for higher shutter speed of at least 1/250 for handheld shot at 400mm.

I find that the D200 does very well at the higher isos for the brighter half of the image; however, even at iso 100 I can detect noise in the shadow regions grr.... And yeah, am thinking of getting or renting a D300 for my next trip together with the 80-400....

With regards to shutter speed, yes! Personally for long lenses in general I will keep my shutter as high as possible and keep my aperture wide open.
