"Everyone knows" is among the most unqualified justifications that people can come up with.
Let me boorow a few lines from Baz Luhrman's "Sunscreen" (it actually comes from Mary Schmich of Chicago Tribune):

You are clearly falling for the illusion that just because something creates more noise in the news it means is has not happened before.
An example: premarital sex. Today we know it happens, only really blindfolded people will dispute it. But what about earlier days? You will be the first one denying that it happened during the age of your parents, given your above response.

Everytime I see an uncouth Singaporean, 80-90% of the time, it's some old auntie/uncle who obviously was brought up in a time when spitting in public was apparently acceptable.

4. Yeo Chang Yong, pumped his 15 year old student, groped a 14 year old.
5. The poor law professor who was screwed by that cross-eyed Derpina look-alike.
6. Aravind Menon, drama teacher. Filmed down the action on cellphone.
7. Unknown former secondary school teacher, pumped a robotics girl. Not too many details on this one.
8. Former female teacher from well-known boys' school, not too many details here because the school imposed gag order.

As a policy planner, how do you account for people's lifelong ambition leh? What if the lifelong ambition is totally useless in meeting national goals leh?

This only shows that the decadence and hypocrisy of the West is age old.

Then again, it might be sheer logistics. My grandma's official date of birth is inaccurate according to her. The kampong so ulu, by the time get to the town and register, long time passed liow. So very unlikely to be accurate.

Seen many seniors graduate and joined MOE, only to be tasked to teach subjects which they do not specialise in, reason quoted is always just lack of manpower.
E.g. Female business/IT grad who has explicitly stated no experience with tools, how to teach DnT?

Teachers are treated as goods to plug up any old hole in demand, hence no pride.

Loads of teachers slack, don't genuinely care about their students, teach sloppily, treat students as enemies, etc. It's not just touching students...
