Actually, I still find Sham Shu Po Apliu Street ([FONT=宋]鴨寮街) [/FONT]cheaper than 華強路 in ShenZhen (深&#22323. And the range of product more complete in Apliu Street.

that's why I have highlighted the stores that are considered safe in the HK shopping guide and gave ratings to some of the better ones. Similar to SLS, there are also reputable stores in Apliu Street.

There are quite a good selection of China made lighting equipment there. Also items such as tripods, remote flash triggers, battery grips, filters, etc... Basically, they are all 3rd party products. If you are looking for stuff from original manufacturers/leading brands such as Nikon, Canon or B+W, you should go to Mongkok instead.

yes, there are quite a lot of China made camera bags but I did not remember the names or price. Next time I go there I will try to find out.

hi. i've heard that in hong kong, photography equipment is cheaper than in singapore. anyone can vouch for that? and like which part of hong kong exactly are these shops located at? thanks alot!

Price are cheap if it is for grey market. Usually call "water goods" in canto. But sometimes too cheap also worry. I once check a prime lens at Mongkok. List price in SG was around $460. First shop i ask quote me around $380. 2nd shop quote me $250. I was shock why so cheap. The quy even show me it is with original seal etc. etc.. Tell me he get direct from factory blah blah blah. Go back to first shop,, then they tell me for that cheap price must be fake. Then he show me his with original seal blah blah blah... in the end never buy.
