1. Go mongkok take bus to saigon eat seafood, careful of wat u order tho. :p
2. Take mtr to sheunwan buy those dry scallops, if not buying, just walk or take tram around for "food tasting". At sheung wan, u can also walk to "Mor Lor" street or something, selling all the antiques, old stuffs (those used in ww2, british colony time). Opposite HK-Macau Harbour there's 1 old building selling all the old HK bus model cars, worth seeing. Take note when walking along sheung huan, be careful, you might walk "out" of the map.
3. If partying, don't go Lan Kwai Fung, that place is for tourist only. Go causeway bay, or mongkok, more happening.
4. Go causeway bay walk walk, shop shop till you drop.
5. If walking along Tsim Sha Shui, don't take the main road, try those inner 2nd lanes, many budget shops and cafes.
6. Go "Zhong Huan" MTR station take bus to stanely market. Sight seeing along the way, see where the rich man stays. IF you are taking double decker, take the upper deck, there's one part of the journey like roller coaster, very fun.
7. When taking tim sum, some places have discounts after certain time. Ask first.
8. If crossing the sea tunnel, don't take cab.

;p

Depends on what you like really.

Sino Centre (Xing(4) He(2) Zhong(1) Xin(1) ) in Mongkok;
and Oriental 188 Shopping Center (Dong(1) Fang(1) Yiao(1) Ba(1) Ba(1))in Wahchai
have many shops selling Comics, DVDs, VCDS, Games, Toys, collectibles.

SINO CENTRE
582-592 Nathan Street, Kowloon
MTR Mongkok exit E2

Oriental 188 Shopping Center
Wanchai Road
MTR Wanchai

For discounted Esprit apparels (up to 90% off), go to the ESPRIT factory outlet in Tsim Sha Tsui. It is located in Hankow Rd. Take MTR to Tsim Sha Tsui staion and take the exit to Peking Road, then from Peking Rd, turn into Hankow Rd. The Esprit outlet is on the same road as HMV, further down.

Try taking the ferry and tram just for the experience, if not for transportation. I kind of like the tram, sit in top deck first row and can take nice pictures from the front window.

Got one claypot rice stall in temple street can try. They also sell oyster omelete, slightly different from Singapore style, can try, not bad.

When eating at noodles stalls, can order the fried fish skin (direct translation from cantonese) and try, I like that also, not bad, like keropok.

Sino centre rules! ;p

Pity the top flrs many shops closed down.

Loaded with canvas shoes too.

Wah kao... like everywhere is shopping...
I've been to Hong Kong, but that was years ago and moreover it's more like a stopover to catch ferry to Zhuhai. :bsmilie:

Would $500 SGD per person would be enough for food and transport (5 days)?
Don't think I'll be going to any posh restaurants, unless they are really good.
Also is credit card is widely accepted?

PM me your email address, i can sent you the 'Must visit' places when i did it last time when i was there.

Credit cards widely accepted in most of the places you'll go. Hrm... $SGD500 should be more then enough. Try taking most of your meals at cafes aka 茶餐厅.
