Just give wing shing a call. Speak to ricky Ho. If they have stock, they may be able to reserve the lens for you for a couple of days. The branch at fai yuen street closes at 10.30pm.

As for international warranty, best to check with tokina Singapore if they honor it.

Yup. I just came back from hk yesterday. Bought a few lenses from them. Most the outlets are the same. I went there as it was the flagship store in mongkok as stated in the guide.

Er.. Any problems for non mandarin/cantonese speakers over there??

Most sales people can speak pretty good Hong Kong English. e,g, $3,300 will sound like

fee thousand and fee hundred in HK as compare to tree thousand and tree hundred in SG... ;)

Some speak with a brit/USA accent too!! Haha, no prob man!

Hi, I just called up Tokina service centre in Singapore, they said for international warranty (products bought overseas). They will charge a service charge (worksmanship fees) for repairs. So your international warranty only entitles you to free replacement of parts. But lens bought in SG all repairs is FOC. Now in a dilemma, dunno whether to buy in HK or not

Just came back from HK and got myself a nice 5DmII and 85mm 1.2 for $HKD 16,000 a piece from Echo Photo and Audio in Tsim Sha Tsui, No. 16. in the guide; both are grey sets. I went around a few shops stated in the guide, Tin Cheung, Man Shing and Wing Shing, but settled on Echo. There was a 2% Credit Card charge though, but even then it was still cheaper than the listed price of the above-mentioned shops cuz they had local warranty. Asked for grey sets and they did have for the camera, not lenses though.

Tin Cheung, Man Shing, and Wing Shing are like your Courts, Harvey Norman and Best Denki; good prices. But Echo is like your Mama Shop. Really great and homely service. Thumbs up!

Congrats on your new toys. You will love the combination of 5D MKII and 85/1.2.

As for Tin Cheung, Man Shing/Wing Shing, I would say they are more like Cathay Photo, Alan Photo and J316 in SG. Echo might be a bit more like MS Color in the old days.
