how small is a small reso scan?

i think even if its tiny, it'll be cheaper and more economical to pick from the scans the negatives that I wanna print instead of printing the whole roll.

hi i went to kim tian to process 2 rolls of films and tho the developing will only cost me $3, scanning each roll is $12!! is it meant to be this expensive?! at this rate maybe getting prints will be better, wouldnt it?

does anybody know anywhere else i can scan for cheaper? if i get the smaller resolution, it'll be cheaper? what kind of smaller resolution are we talking about?
