Hi all,
Just got myself a brand new holga 120CFN and i just shot two rolls of film, using medium-format film. bought them all from ruby photo. just wondering if you guys have any recommendations on cheap and good places where i can develop my films? Currently, from what i gather, developing a roll of 12 will set me back abt $8-9 dollars.. Are there any other places that develops for a lower price? and how much will it cost appx if i want them to scan my photos for me into cd? any recommendations? OH! i live in the west! any good places to go develop my films in the west side of spore? Hehe. thanks!

:embrass:

Do you know Kim Tian at Chinatown?

They develop 120 negatives, at $3. Very cheap.

B&W is different, Ruby and Riceball do it, $5. I don't send them in for developing, because I like the control that I have with home development, and it's cheaper.

hi where kim tian

i've heard about kim tian, but dunno its exact location. any directions? which part of chinatown?

$3 for a roll is very cheap! but is $3 the processing fee? or everything included - meaning processing fee + negs + prints? sounds really great...because my friend went ruby to print all the time, and she always end up paying $8 to $9 for one roll (negs, prints, processing fee included).

Kim Tian is located at the Hong Lim Complex. Take the train to Chinatown Station on the Punggol line, and exit by the Chinatown Point entrance. When u see Delifrance on the right hand side of the building, walk down for about 2 mins and you'll see the shop there...very easy to find, can ask around too once u are at Chinatown Point Shopping Centre.

so does kimtian develop B&W 120mm?

or only colour?

I don't know if they do B&W but they do colour.

B&W do it yourself. Very, very good results. Sending it to a lab is always a compromise!

teach me?!

hahaha.

dont have the equipment leh.

Hi guys, I went down to ruby photo on sunday hoping to dev 2 rolls of B&W but too bad they werent open.

any idea about ruby's operational hours?

in anycase, I was wondering how much it would cost if i wanted them to scan the prints and save them on a cd or something.

save urself a trip next time.... none of the major photo places ard peninsular area are open on sunday or public holidays.

ruby is open mon-sat, ard 10.30am-11am, till ard 7pm - give or take.

hello people.
i finally brought down my 2rolls of MF films down to Miao Lann at Bukit Batok to develop since it is the nearest to my house. BUT i was sooo taken aback at the amount that i had to pay when i went to collect my prints. two rolls cost me $28! :o i thought the price was way ridiculous because from what i know, my friend developed hers at ruby and it usually wont not go beyond $10 per roll. i have no idea why it is so expensive, but i am sure not going back there anytime soon. goshhh.. one print for $1. omgg. i am new to lomography, medium format and stuffs like that, but they are overcharging me right? sighh.. :dunno:

*my both rolls turn out quite ok though, not bad i feel, for first 2 rolls!

it's because u printed ur negatives, for me, i usually develop and scan only which cost me around $8-$10.. develop cost $3-$5 and scan cost $5..

scan is using a film scanner to scan the negatives.
the storage media is usually CD from the developers

one enquiry, if wan to develop the photos can ask them to burn the images to a cd instead of printing them right?

hi, did you pay $5 to scan each photo?

today i paid $28 dollars for developing and printing 2 rolls of B&W.
Ruby quoted scanning at 3 bucks per photo.
thats pretty pricy isnt it?

anywhere else that charges lower for scanning?
