1 MONTH is bloody short time.
With $500, minus expenses for my 2nd camera unit($150), 500 - 150 = $350.
With $350 to capture 8 tapes into my computer, and edit it out into LESS THAN TWO HOURS.
Can any video expert tell me this isnt a long time esp at the rate I am charging. Give me 1k to work with then we can talk about 1month.
If not i DID told you from the start I charge higher for accelerated post production.
I think you should do your homework that $500 is a very big bargain.. its like getting someone to build you a car at $9 000, but no fix deadline. - Time factor is the problem of this situation which I am aware and protect myself from.
He kept saying "After one month I didnt do anything" but thats is untrue.
Anyways lets end this zzzzz.. its freaking ugly posting this on the public forum.

David, your services may be cheap and good. It may be a bargain or a steal. Either way, as a service provider, communication is always important between you and your client.
I feel this is a case of grave miscommunication that bottled up and escalated to a point when both parties are just seeing red.
I feel as a service provider, you should always update your client about the progress of the stipulated work. Using sms is not a professional way to build client relationships. Not answering the client's phone calls is also a form of poor service quality. A client has placed his trust in you to edit his work, and needs to be constantly reassured that the best efforts are going into it. Meet up with the client regularly. Call the client regularly. This will no doubt solve all the issues that you two are facing today.
Many on this forum has named you as a reliable and professional person to work with, with several accolades to your name. I do not deny that fact. However it is apparent to many that your attitude is certainly lacking. Whether or not you're professional or just an NSF doing video editing part time, service has to be of the best you can offer. As of now, i am sure your client Alex has no clue to what you've done for the past month. In fact, everyone here in the forum is clueless about what you've done in the past month as well. The only thing we keep seeing is "Yes i've been working on it but i need more time". Exactly what have you been working on? (No, you don't need to tell us.) But what you should have been doing is telling the client. Disappearing from the client is a terrible way to do business. As mentioned in another earlier thread, you pulled out from a clients wedding videoshoot via SMS at short notice. Just tell me how professional is that?
Please do realize that a certain level of maturity is required for providing service. Service has many strings attached to it that requires time, effort and costs. Perhaps you should tone down your commitments before you engage such time consuming services. After NS, and after your further studies, when you go out into the working world, when your boss tells you to do something in 2 weeks, try telling him no. And if you think you're going to be a full time professional and your own boss, unless you're russell wong, you won't survive the industry with your attitude.
