But got a shock when I compared the pricing for the A700 HK & SG.

Ya agree ... it's really a world of difference between the prices in SG and HK.

Anyway, please wait and hear responses from other bros ... heard there may be international or at least convertable warranty for bodies as well.

Think I'll try calling SG Sony Style later on to check, see if they have any info on that. ;p

Called SG Sony Style Service hotline, their reply was if you purchase DSLR from SG. You are require to inform the dealer upfront to convert the local warranty to international warranty. (Should be required to pay a small amount.)

Whereas for oversea, he told me to find out from HK Sony Style, as he's not sure about that...

My friend has verified that buying a flash from HK Sony (wing shing?) will not have an option to convert to international warranty.

International warranty conversion from local HK warranty only applies to camera body and lenses.

I see, does it need to pay extra $ to convert to international warranty if I buy DSLR Body & Lens from HK? Can anyone verify on that? Cause I'm going HK next month not sure to get the A700 + CZ Lens or just CZ Lens only.. :dunno:

So far never heard from anyone need to pay for warranty conversion.

no need to $$ . only need to go sony style or something for conversion.

Yes ... me too. For lenses, just bring items, and receipt to HK Sony Style to have it converted for free.
