HK Limited Tourist Warranty

When you purchase the lense, they gave you a Tourist Limited Warranty (TLW) card after you filled up their warranty card yes?

The TLW and receipt is your warranty. No more action required.

If not...email sony hk, or get sony sg to check for you.

No, you need to go to Sonystyle and convert to SG warranty.

erm sorry to bump this thread up.
but i have a problem. ive recently ask my friend to buy a Sony A mount adapter from HK for me..
i inform him about how to go about with the warrenty etc.

however now he is back with the item.. ive open and check the item. There is no Sony warrenty card at all. Just the company receipt. So how do i register now? All item should come with a warrenty card right? and the box should be sealed with a tape right? could it be..he bought a paralel import item?

Any body bought any Sony stuff from HK can enlighten me ? thanks alot.

There is no tourist warranty for the official la-ea1. I confirm this personally before at the Sony style @ mongkok 9th floor.

By the way, even the lens or camera bodies no physical card anymore. Just a blue colour sticker asking you to register online for the local hong kong warranty.

Accessories like flash, etc do not come with a convertible warranty.

thanks for the clarification on LA-EA1.
no more warranty card? hmm ok.. so even if u got a blue color sticker its only warranty for HK ? no longer international warranty? (as per state before n in this thread) ?

The right way to do is after buying the Cam or lens from shop, you go to the HK sonystyle service centre and get the tourist warranty. There is no online registration to be done by you. The HK sonystyle will do everything for u.

The tourist warranty card is your warranty. You will see the date purchased on it.

After u come back to SG, no need to do anything else.

yes of cos thats first question to ask upon purchasing. But i new to this n have not tried shopping in HK before so. im afraid they might say stuff like oh u just bring this card.. or receipt (no card) to the Sony shop.. etc etc (kicking you around) then end up. i got nothing. Becos the SONY STYLE people said another thing. You get what i meant? thats why im trying to get some stuff assured here. Yea i know its rather annoying maybe.

But who wants to pay a thousand or few and come back with a headache. right? So am here asking for myself and interested bro/sis advise from the experiences customers. Really appreciate the help.

It's ez to buy from HK

First u only buy from recommended HK shops. U can find these shops from this forum. Don't anyhow buy from any shops, only from recommended shops.

Sony products will have a blue sticker on the box. That will show u that the item has warranty. Then after buying it, u bring the item and shop's receipt to Sony style HK to get the tourist warranty

I did exactly just that. Upon coming bk to SG, no need to do other registration.

If u got problem with the item, just bring item and tourist warranty card to Sony style SG.

There is also no warranty for LA-EA1 in Singapore. Checked with sonystyle sg, they advise to keep the receipt and produce it if any servicing required.

Yes, broken seal means box been opened before.

Remember, only buy from recommended shops. The rest are like our sim lim shops.
