My cubicle seems to attract spiders lately.. The most recent one I saw is like 0.5cm, 8 legs,
round head, with a big big yellow ) on the back. belly smaller than head, with a big white band and two small white dots at the end of the belly.. Legs with bands of red/black..

Got image liao..

A male Adanson's house jumper, Hasarius adansoni. One of the most common urban spiders in Singapore. There are many different types of jumping spiders, which vary greatly in size and colour. Almost all spiders are venomous, but most only mildly so, and most common spiders in Singapore cannot even penetrate an adult human's thick skin, so they are virtually harmless.

Thankk you! And it's a CITY spider! :bsmilie:

Classification: Family Salticidae, Jumping Spiders
Habitat: House walls.
Female: 6-8 mm.
Male: 5-6 mm.
Distribution: Cosmopolitan.

Essentially the spiders in SG are not venomous enough to kill anyone. The big ones would be the golden orb web spider.

;)

ah... that's the one! I encounter lots of these in the jungles and abandoned places. There was once i went under a tree at Kranji, up in the tree there were at least 20 of these big ones....i broke out in cold sweat....i have fear of spiders. :bsmilie:
