Poor guy, everyone except Keith's last reply is answering your question. So far, only see it happen often on the 14-42mm lens and have never heard of such issues with any lenses from any other brands that supports the m43 system. I use Nikon too but I've never encountered any issues, be it my 4/3, m43 or Nikon systems

Oki bro. Now u have 4 guys answering your question lol.

The only time I used the 14-42 lens was back with the EP1 and the 14-42 version 1 (you can't imagine how +_+ it was using back then)

Hi All,

Added m4/3 to my system recently. Was thinking of getting this second hand lens. Just want to check, is anyone aware if this particular issue had been resolved by Olympus, i.e. No more such issue.

Thanks :)

Not sure about those newer batches. My 1.5yrs old lens just encounter the same problem. The service center quoted $100+ for repair but of course rejected and went off.

The lady saw the message on the camera and straight away told that the mechanism was faulty and told me the repair fee. Seems like she is already familiar with this issue.

It's common enough (just for this lens).

Wah, even until now Olympus still have not done anything to it...looks like have to look at other lens...

Thanks rollbread and Keith for sharing :D

It's a cheap lens, so probably no point in fixing it, kinda bad for the name though. But as a user, I'd see it as an upgrade opportunity :bsmilie:

Any idea how much is the RRP now ?

Thks.

The dekitted one is a lot cheaper, I do not know RRP prices as I don't bother looking at kit lenses anymore unless I'm buying it for someone, searching for someone or buying for lessons for kids

I would figure that dekitted kit lenses on ebay are less expensive than retail, there's one selling for 150 USD.

Wow...usd150...imho, it does not command such a price :o
