I would think the the VG30 would be the winner as the APS-C sensor is 9 times larger than those used in the NX3 and AX1. However, the shallow DOF of using a very long focal length may be problematic if you want to keep all the peformers in focus. By comparison the focal length of the NX3 is only 4 - 82mm. Most videographers still use small-sensor cameras for concerts but I have seen excellent concet shots from VG30 paired with the 18-200 powerzoom.

A good compromise between workable DOF and low light seneitivity is the RX10 with a 1" sensor and a focal length of 9-73mm but beware the 29min limit on movie clips

i have the same sentiment, too but would rent to confirm.
not sure if the file would be too big?

above was one of the concern but i think because the distant from the stage may reduce the dog problem but that being said the smaller sensor would be even lesser of a problem

as for the rx10 i was worry if the camera may be overheat and the battery life if the concert last 2 hour

i was wondering why not more videographer would consider the vg30 as now it has the power zoom lens available making it closer to video cam then a Dslr

thank for the sharing

sorry mix some of my comment into bamboo picture quote

Personally, I don't trust autofocus on E mount lenses especially in low light and lots of motion on stage. But going manual focus will also leave you crossed-eyed after 2 hours. So depends on the production and number of cameras. A small sensor camera would be better for master shots and the VG30 for close-ups although experience with my VG20 and NX30 tells me they don't cut too well together. The VG30 is significantly more vibrant and cleaner than small sensor cameras in low light.
