a brief read thru, i think TS need to google abit read up on effects of aperture, how bokeh is related to that.

learn how to achieve bokeh using the lens u have thru positioning and composition. it not impossible to do bokeh with the kit lens, just need to know how to go abt doing it.

if u want reach get a higher mm lens either 70-300 or 55-200, if u want a all rounder is 18-200 but its a little ex.

how to enjoy learning when you din even start the purchase?? hehehe... joking joking.

If you are interested, I think you should get a body first, then a cheap 2nd hand prime like the 50mm f1.8 which cost less than $150 in BnS.
Try it out ... since you already condemn the kit lens in the first place (just like i did) ... maybe you can consider pro lens like the n24-70f2.8 ... it never fails to surprised me

yea, i know 18-55 can get bokeh, but im wondering if i can get more of that obvious effect.

haha and yes i know the kits lens sounds like it suits me best but im looking for a lens that can zoom further as i like to take photo from a distance...

as for the flash i've already looked into the Nissin Flash... is there a price guide for the flashes online here?? (like in this forum)

i've read a number of forums and reviews and some lessons too... starting to get much of them alittle bit by bit...

hopefully u guys can get me through this though~~

Go have a look at the reddotphoto website, they have the prices for the nissin flashes

im looking at the Di622 mark 2, well because it looks good, sounds good.. aint that expensive though...

Not sure how Singpost handles parcels but if you are worried, you can ask for meet up at one of the mrt stations which they listed.

I think after all the discussion, you still know it best because it all depends on what you need. If you need the extra range then go for 55-200, if you just need one with wide to moderate telephoto range then go for the 18-105

I see TS infected by BBB Syndrome already.

Gd to explore and ask around. But ultimately, It will be urself who knows exactly what u need (Range? Flexibility? Weight? Sharpness? BOKEHHH?)
No lens is all-rounder. You just need to shoot more to understand ur needs and fix ur budget.

Do u like bokeh and dont mind changing lens all the time?
Do u shoot at close ranges or telephoto ranges?
How do u intend to use ur flash? (to determine which flash to get)

As u shoot more, u will know exactly what u lack and what u dont need.
