Hi Guys

Need some advise to get a DIg cam that can be good enough to be use on land & UW.

Current i am using an old Canon A70 result taken UW was not that good. Therefore would like to know that is there a cam that can suit my use ??

I like to take macro shots....

Get an upgrade .. the new A640 or higher is the "replacement" for the A70. Good enough for land and uw. Then again what do you shoot? Consider what you shoot and then consider the equipment you have ... can the equipment you have perform in the way you need it to?

Cheers, Jeff

eh.. A70 can take very impressive photos what.. and videos,

you can try the fuji F30/31 cheap and good.

you like macro ah, get a Inon lens adapter and add macro lens and get an external strobe? :D

Canon's Macro mode is rather impressive so you might want to consider the G7(finally comes with a housing), or the A640

Olympus woahh!!! no comments

i haven tried the rest so.. :D no comments

F30 would be good choice. And the underwater housing is not expensive..

i am interested to know exactly what you mean. What did u expect to achieve and what you actually achieved? a picture tells a thousand words.

The Canon S3 is well worth a consideration. The super macro mode is helpful and the video output is outstanding. The catch, though, is that there isn't a manufacturer UW housing for this model so you'll have to turn to third-party housings which usually cost an arm and a leg.

Just finished a Sipadan trip using that housed in an Ikelite. Have a look here.

A630/A640 will be a very wise choice.....

the generations for this series of cameras from A85, A95, A610, A620 are all very good compact camera, A630/A640 will be their upgrade series,LCD for example, this camera will not fail u in both UW and land shots.......

price wise will be cheap too, can get a a630 AT 509 BUCKS............

err....kurt disappeared?

ive compared the macro on the S3 and the G7. the G7 blows the S3 out of the water in that regard.

HI Serene.
I'm interested in getting the S3. May i ask what SD card r u using? Heard S3 have probs with SD cards especially kingston SD. Many have experience photos lost and r unable to retrive 100% of them.

I use the Sandisk SD card with built-in USB adapter. Cards works well with camera - very fast, in fact.

I recently bought the Canon Ixus 900 Ti. Has anybody used it u/w? Any comments? Planning to get the u/w housing for it soon. :)
