Sgt. Pepper: i find that the 70-200 plus ext tube didnt give me enough magnification for closeups lor, and may be personal opinion, i find that my 85mm plus ext tube can give me slightly bigger magnification and slightly sharper image. And it seems that with an ext tube, the magnification at 70mm and 200mm is about the same? unsure of this also.
hwchoy: the sample u posted looks fine to me
Anyway i did a very rough test using the 70-200 F4L and 85mm F1.8 with ext tube and the Sigma 180mm marco.
Settings are ISO 400, 1/100, F8.0, MLU, Tripod mounted, Bounce flash, crop from 100% w/o sharpening
For the 70-200 and 85mm shots, they are taken at Max. magnification, the 180mm shot is just for show
its about 1:1.15 life size
70-200
