Help needed: Black envelopes ard picture

Hi there,

i am using a Nikon D90 and software like premier pro and Vegas.

I tried various output formats but there is always a black envelope ard the picture. How do i remove the black envelope without reducing the video quality?

Can you show a screen grab of this black envelop?

Hope you don't mean the 2 black bars (top and bottom) that you get when you output your 16:9 captured video to 4:3 aspect ratio. This is unavoidable.

set your premiere or vega timeline to work with 720p footage.
Nikon D90 shoots 1280x720 size videos, so if you put in 4:3 PAL sequence settings, you get top and bottom black bars (aka. Letterbox) if it does an automatic scale to fit.
If you put the Nikon D90 footage to a HD 1920x1080 sequence settings, your image will be smaller, thus you see black 'borders' around. You need to scale up your video to fit 1920x1080 or set your sequence to fit the Nikon D90 .mov footage.

Sorry for my late reply. I have another suggestion from Scott(http://www.artsalehub.com):

"Export as Photojpeg 95% Quality, Progressive, 24fps, 1280x720 with 1.0 aspect ratio (the aspect ratio might be what is causing the letterbox effect)."
